At Silverman Theologou, Mr. Varkas delivers comprehensive legal services to our credit union clients in Florida. His expertise centers on negotiating, resolving and collecting consumer debt through filing and litigating claims across Florida to secure due payments. With over a decade of experience in business litigation, Mr. Varkas is well-versed in Florida HOA/COA law, landlord-tenant disputes, real estate litigation and business torts, managing cases from their inception through discovery, trial and appeal.

Prior to joining Silverman Theologou, Mr. Varkas was an Associate at Sweetapple, Broeker & Varkas, PL. He honed his litigation skills under the mentorship of his father and Robert A. Sweetapple, Esq., a board-certified business litigation and trial attorney with over 35 years of experience.

Mr. Varkas earned his Bachelor of Arts in Latin-American Studies from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas, in May 2003. He graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law in May 2010, completing his studies a semester early and achieving Dean’s List Honors in his final semester. During law school, he interned at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office in the Homicide and Appellate Divisions.

He is licensed to practice in the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Currently, Mr. Varkas is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and is working towards his board certification in business litigation.
